Weekly Quiz – 3 October 2026 – New Zealand

Play the quiz online or download the classroom PowerPoint and printable PDFs.

A local lens, with a global view

Start with stories and events relevant to New Zealand, then widen the lens to major international developments. The edition gives teachers a structured way to hear what pupils know, surface questions and make space for discussion without writing a quiz from scratch.

What comes in the quiz pack?

Each published edition includes an interactive quiz, printable question sheets, an answer key and a classroom PowerPoint. Use the interactive version for a whole-class round, or print the questions for teams and small groups.

Ways to use a weekly classroom quiz

The questions work best as a conversation starter, not just a score. Give pupils time to think, explain their reasoning and connect an answer to something they have learned.

  1. 1.Let pupils answer individually first, then compare in pairs so everyone has time to take part.
  2. 2.Use a local news question to discuss how an event affects different communities and what information would help explain it.
  3. 3.Finish by asking pupils to choose one question they would like to explore in more depth during the week.

Who is this edition for?

Teachers looking for a New Zealand current-affairs quiz, a flexible general-knowledge starter or a discussion activity for class or tutor group.
