Weekly Quiz – 3 October 2026 – United States

Play the quiz online or download the classroom PowerPoint and printable PDFs.

A local lens, with a global view

Give US headlines and events room alongside international stories that cross borders. The US edition is designed to make a weekly news conversation accessible to a whole class, including pupils who follow current events closely and those who are just getting started.

What comes in the quiz pack?

Each published edition includes an interactive quiz, printable question sheets, an answer key and a classroom PowerPoint. Use the interactive version for a whole-class round, or print the questions for teams and small groups.

Ways to use a weekly classroom quiz

The questions work best as a conversation starter, not just a score. Give pupils time to think, explain their reasoning and connect an answer to something they have learned.

  1. 1.Invite teams to agree on an answer before revealing it, then ask what clue or prior knowledge helped them decide.
  2. 2.For a current-affairs question, separate the confirmed fact in the answer from opinions or predictions pupils may have heard.
  3. 3.Use a missed question as a short research prompt: find a reliable source and bring back one extra fact next lesson.

Who is this edition for?

Teachers seeking a ready-to-use US current-affairs quiz, a general-knowledge warm-up or a shared activity for advisory and classroom time.
